Nate LaPointe/Dan and Leland

show 70:  Nate LaPointe, A combination of growing up in Laramie, Wyoming and his fathers passion for music, Nate was exposed to a wide variety of musical influences ranging from jazz to classical to rock to country. Ivan Johnson's acoustic upright bass performance along with Nate LaPointe's skillful and passionate guitar playing separate this band into a category of their own. The band's self-titled debut cd was released in December 2005 and they have spent part of the past year touring the west :

Dan and Leland, fuse rock mentality, new-grass chops, and organic songwriter sensibilities. The result is a totally ground-breaking take on what can be done with just guitars and vocals. Friends and collaborators since high school, Dan Franklin and Leland Jackness went their separate ways to establish themselves as high caliber musicians. Dan has performed with LeAnn Rimes, Jennifer Paige, and Aaron Lines (to name a few) while Leland was making a name for himself in the Santa Cruz underground as a founding member of the psychedelic rock group, illumiNation. Dan and Leland reconnected in Los Angeles and began making some truly exciting music, blending pop allure and virtuosic ability into an infectious amalgam of acoustic/vocal combustion :
