Mon, 2 April 2007 show 40: No music today but big news. EMI will offer up its whole catalog to the web. Starting with iTunes. Heard on MacBreak Weekly podcast. This is great news. This is how people want to buy their music. So that it can be played on any portable device at any time. The dike has a hole in it. Lets see which labels follow. But even more interesting, who tries to stick their finger in the hole. note: I knew I would screw this podcast up. The songs are not mp3's they are acc format. No problem. Just burn them to a cd then rip to mp3. The deal is NO DRM! I also forgot to note that the songs you have bought, from iTunes, in the past are upgradable. For 30 cents you can get the higher quality, non DRM, songs. Comments[1] |
